About me
Adam Haigler is a Design Thinking facilitator, consultant, and coach, and the founder of WIELD, an agency that works across sector to solve problems that impact people and planet. With over 15 years of experience in experiential education, Adam specializes in helping organizations and educators co-create innovative solutions through human-centered design. He is the Co-Founder Emeritus of Open Way Learning, where he transformed school cultures across North America using Project-Based Learning, design thinking, and community partnerships. Adam has led service-learning expeditions through Central America and East Africa, worked as a Lead Instructor with North Carolina Outward Bound School, and co-founded an experiential gap year program. As a former award-winning high school science teacher and Teacher-Powered Schools Ambassador, Adam has deep expertise in place-based learning, authentic problem-solving with real community stakeholders, and creating learning experiences where students become "solutioneers" for their communities. He is co-author of "Open Up Education" and brings a passion for leveraging outdoor environments and design processes to catalyze transformative learning experiences.
