About me
Jen Maxwell is xwelítem (settler) in traditional, ancestral and unceded Ts'elxwéyeqw, Semá:th, and Pil'alt Territory. She is passionate about global Indigenous studies, genealogical research, and reading sci-fi and fantasy fiction. She is motivated by authentic, community-connected learning. She teaches French, Psychology, and Humanities at Imagine High in Chilliwack, British Columbia and is a mother to two darling smallies. In 2021, Jen won the Governor General’s Award for Teaching History for a project on Reconciliation and taking active steps to responding to the Calls to Action. Jen believes that education should be accessible, relevant and fun.
