About me
Marnie Birkeland is a secondary teacher at George Elliot Secondary School and a teacher with the Learning and Innovation team, where she works alongside students and educators to design learning that is rooted in relationship, curiosity, and purpose. Her practice centers student voice, land-based learning, and competency-driven assessment aligned with the BC Curriculum. Marnie is passionate about rethinking engagement through student agency and believes that when students are trusted as co-creators, learning becomes more human and more powerful.
